more about the Manrose Extractor fans, strong ventilation solutions via sparksdirect

You may have noticed that, though we’re not writing too much here on this blog, there’s much activity on the blog at sparksdirect.co.uk. The articles we post there are not as short as the ones you can find via the NewLights blog: they are quite comprehensive, worthy of study and reference. Let’s take the Manrose extractor fans for example -  recently there have been at least 3 articles posted online, with solid information inspired by what the manufacturer put out in the user manuals / website, like:

Problems caused by poor ventilation and their solution(Manrose extractor fans)

Being inspired by what Manrose advises regarding the siting of the fans and the problems created by the lack of ventilation, we have compiled some ideas and listed them below(the source can be found at the Manrose Fan Selection page). Read more in this article about: The problems that can appear due to poor ventilation; Help – solving the lack of ventilation in the homes; Locate/site your fan correctly in the home; Choosing the proper / perfect fan for the best ventilation.

The quietest low energy extractor fan from Airflow – the QuietAir whisper quiet ventilation fan

The NEW QuietAir range from Airflow sets new standards for powerful, yet highly efficient ventilation in the home

The NEW QuietAir range from Airflow sets new standards for powerful, yet highly efficient ventilation in the home

Also introduced on our blog, and available to be purchased online via sparksdirect, the new QuietAir range from Airflow sets new standards for powerful, yet highly efficient ventilation in the home, and with a sound level of just 25 dB(A) you will hardly notice it is running. The QuietAir range of extractor fans also features energy saving, eco start technology.

Many toilet and bathroom fans are wired to the light circuit and they start costing money by coming on every time you flick the light switch on. QuietAir eco start technology waits to activate the fan for two minutes after the room is occupied, thereby avoiding unnecessary energy usage for every quick visit, especially during night” – John Kelly, Airflow Marketing Manager

Elegance and style have not been overlooked with a discreet, unobtrusive, clip on, wipe clean cover that blends harmoniously with existing decor.
The use of a ball bearing motor also extends fan life in excess of 40,000 hours. A key benefit for social housing installations where long term reliability and low level maintenance and whole life costings are an important issue.

Another helpful feature is the two speed mode. The air flow rates of 75 m3/hr or 90 m3/hr may be selected at installation enabling the fan to be sized to the required demand particularly in larger washrooms. Unlike most axial fans, QuietAir incorporates a new, high efficiency impeller specially designed to work in combination with the aerodynamic flow straighter supplied to provide greater pressure development than equivalent fans. This allows QuietAir to deliver 60 m3/hr (16.6 l/sec) against 31Pascals pressure through longer lengths of 100mm diameter rigid ducting including 90O bends, while maintaining the minimum installed performance quoted in the Building Regulations, Approved Document F.

Application & Features – the Airflow QuietAir Ultra-Quiet Extractor Fan

A unique feature available in QuietAir is the “Room Refresh” option. Perfect for rooms that do not get regular use the “Interval Timer” can be programmed to automatically activate the fan for the duration of the timer setting, every 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours. Hotel rooms, student accommodation, public washrooms and internal bathrooms in sheltered housing and care homes will benefit from this planned ventilation to reduce dampness, extract mustiness and odours and generally help to routinely maintain a refreshed, healthier indoor atmosphere.

Within the fan all electronics are fully isolated and with IP45 protection, QuietAir is safe for installation in wet zones in bathrooms, en-suites and shower rooms when protected by an MCB in accordance with the latest IEE wiring regulations. The combination of control options for Basic switching, Adjustable timer, Humidity and Timer and Motion sensing with Timer are offered together with cavity wall kits and complementary accessories. Backed by a 3-year warranty QuietAir is a fully featured fan designed to meet the future need for ultra energy efficient ventilation.

Nemo’s living objects – the Frizzi fan

Let me just quote from what the Frizzi brochure says:

It was really balmy one summer Sunday afternoon in New York city. I went for a run at my local gym. As I ran I was so hot that I imagined a great fan above my head keeping me refreshed, cool, and lit per contra to my sweat drenched clothes and overheated body.

In my day-dreaming listenings to 140 beats per minute of high energy music and a runners high after 10 km, I envisioned a tumultuos wind that would keep doughty me sprinting fervently.

I saw a voluptuos form, a simple floating sensual shape with 3 rounded blades of light. I felt the breeze in my hair, against my wet skin, keeping me cool.

I feel I could run forever. I was lit with a halo of light and my hair was frizzy as could be. Keel cool!

This is what Karim Rashid says about his Frizzi fan, which he calls “a living object”. The exceptional design, its efficiency and dual function as ventilator and light (optional) allow it to be used anywhere, at any time of the year. In summer it is an ideal addition to air conditioning, while in winter it complements the heating systems. Frizzi improves the comfort of interiors, illuminates, furnishes, its movement accompanying the rithms of work, conversation, rest. Thanks to the special design of its blades, Frizzi has an efficient action range of about 4 metres, within which it moves air without any noise or vibration.

Frizzi’s motor, class F certified, ensures high level performance even at low speed. It is thermally insulated, so that it works perfectly in the hottest interiors, even when the light is on.

Frizzi comes in various colours: the body is available in metallic silver, glossy white-gray, glossy anthracite grey or glossy white-grey, with semi-transparent or light-blue semi-transparent blades. In the version which incorporates a light, the triplex blown glass diffuser is available in opal white, mat finish. All functions can me activated by remote control.

Technical features – Nemo Frizzi

  • Nemo Frizzi is a Three Blade Ventilator.
  • Motor – induction motor, with external rotor, 16 poles, class F.
  • Rpm – between 120 and 200 rotations per minute.
  • Power – 40W at 200 rpm.
  • Frequency – 50Hz.
  • Current absorbtion – 185mA.
  • Light source – 4 x 25W – G9 halogen.
  • Materials – the body and blades  in polycarbonate, diffuser in opal white triplex blown glass.
  • Colours – the body is available in silver, glossy anthracite grey, glossy white-grey; the blades are available in semi-transparent or light blue semi-transparent.
  • Weight – 7.9 kg

I like it! Not just designing a certain fan, making it look nice and sound nice, but also to present it in a very stylish way. Almost everything can be sold/purchased if there is someone to present it according to its features + adding a nice story to it! To get this fan in our store, you can visit us in Archway, London, or you can order it online at the Heating and Ventilation section, CoolingFans - ventilation. You can order the Frizzi fan body, the Frizzi fan blades, and the Frizzi fan remote control.
