Top 6 Questions People would ask us as an Electrical Wholesaler over the phone

You may think that most of the questions an electrical wholesaler with an online store – www.sparksdirect.co.uk – is being asked are COMPLICATED and COMPLEX questions, and sometimes you are RIGHT(but they are so specific, that it can get boring for someone non-interested to read them here). Fortunately for us, most of the times people ask us some simple questions, and we give them some simple answers. Here are the Top 6 questions we get asked by our customers/visitors:
- Schedule related questions: what time do you close today? or: Are you open on Saturday?
The schedule is indeed posted on the index page of our website, and it is:
Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm
Saturday: 8.30am – 2.00pm.
Do we open on Saturdays? Yes, unless it is a public holiday. Our people at the counter are here, ready to serve you
- Products Details: What is the cutout for this fitting? Does this lamp come in another colour/finish? – and other specific questions – more details about the products on our website. Many times, we need to go back to the manufacturer’s catalogues and update the website, but most of the times we just visit those particular items and “read the details”/go through the details with the customers. You will be happy to hear that we’re working daily to improve the quality of the information, pictures, and technical specs / manuals for each of the product on our website.
- Stock Enquiry: Do you have this switch / this lamp fitting in stock? Well, if you give us the model number(located right under the picture of that fitting), we can check the stock and let you know how long will it take for those items to be delivered to you. We keep in stock most of the items, but there are some ranges that are so “special” and rarely ordered, that we don’t keep them in stock continually. It usually takes 2-5 working days to get most items in stock (see the Terms and Conditions).
- Location enquiries: you may be surprised, but even though we’re located on a major street in Central/North London, and we have a large shop front, sometimes it is still difficult for people to find us. Therefore, we give them specific information about our location, some points of reference around us: there’s a KFC close to us up the street, and a Sainsbury down the street from us. Parking? Yes, there’s Pay & Display parking close to where we are, or you can park briefly to load your car – right in front of our showroom
- Information about the orders: When does my order come? I ordered 5minutes ago: when is it coming? I ordered last week, and I didn’t receive any word! – well, the last one happens very rarely. When you order online at SparksDirect, we write an email to say what’s the updated status of your order: either processing(it will take a few days to be delivered to you), or please confirm(there are some issues with the card payment, the delivery address, the order, etc – you need to call us), or shipped, delivered, etc. All you need to do is to check your email or log into our website with your email address and your password, and you will see what’s going on with the order.
- Phone Ordering: Can I order over the Phone? I saw this awesome lamp, can I order it now? In the past, we used to take orders over the phone, but now we advise everyone to order online the items you like on our website. It’s simple: add them to the cart, then check out whenever “you’re done shopping”. For a more ease of use and payment, we have both the SagePay system of online payment and the Paypal. You choose. We don’t take orders over the phone – please order online
– it’s much simpler and more safe/secure for you.
We may come back later to deal/post some of the more complex questions that we – as an electrical wholesaler in London with an online store – get asked by the customers / visitors / people.
